Artemide Grand Opening
Artemide Chicago | September 24, 2015
"Artemide, a leading manufacturer for the high-end professional and residential illumination sectors, is pleased to announce the opening of its new showroom in Chicago...
The 2,800 square-foot showroom has been designed to showcase the full range of lighting solutions from the brand, including new products, iconic fixtures and the latest innovative lights that will meet the demands of every architectural project.
Studio de Bevilacqua maintained the integrity of the industrial building and incorporated the existing structure and architectural details, like exposed brick walls and wooden ceiling beams, into the design. By adding walls to separate, but not enclose, display areas there is a seamless flow from room to room. The suspended cloud ceilings allowed Artemide to display ceiling and suspended fixtures at a realistic height without compromising the original ceiling structure.
Three large windows on West Hubbard Street allow passersby to enjoy the world of lighting offered by Artemide and peek through the entire space. From one display area to the other, each visitor creates its own path through the collections, experiencing the various innovative lighting solutions. The showroom is designed to serve as an exhibition space and lighting competency center. The center serves as a meeting point and consulting space for design professionals, whether they are working on residential, hospitality, office, retail or even outdoor urban and landscaping projects."
